Congressman Tony Wied’s Update: August 28, 2026

I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve the people of Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District. From Marinette to Appleton, Waupaca to Sturgeon Bay, Northeast Wisconsin is truly the best place to live, work, and raise a family.

During this August district work period, I traveled to all 11 counties across the district and had the pleasure of meeting with so many of the people who call Northeast Wisconsin home. I met with our heroes in law enforcement, local veterans who served our country with pride, hardworking farmers and agricultural leaders, and countless others who make our communities strong.

Being back home in Northeast Wisconsin over the past month has given me an incredible opportunity to have meaningful conversations with constituents and hear directly about how I can best represent them in Washington.

My number one job is to represent the interests of the great people of Northeast Wisconsin, and I can’t do that without listening to your input and learning from the people and stakeholders who know our communities best.

As this district work period comes to a close, I am ready to head back to Washington and continue fighting for each and every one of you.

We have many challenges ahead, but I am determined to keep fighting to make life more affordable, put more money back in your pockets, make our communities safer, and deliver for hardworking Northeast Wisconsin families.

Thanks again for starting your weekend with us! We hope you enjoy this week’s edition of the Wied Wire.

District Update

Supporting Local Veterans
[see featured photo above] This week, I traveled to Randy’s Place Bar & Bowl in Suring to meet with local veterans to thank them for their unwavering service to our country. I enjoyed learning more about their time in the service and how I can continue to be an advocate for them in Congress. If you or anyone you know is in need of assistance with the Veterans Affairs (VA) or any Federal Agency, please do not hesitate to contact my District Office at 920-301-4500 or submit a message through my website.

Healthcare Heroes
I had a great visit with team members at the Ascension Calumet Hospital in Chilton to learn more about the critical and specialized care that they provide to residents of Calumet County and Northeast Wisconsin. From the Emergency Department to the clinic, I had the opportunity to tour the facility and want to thank our rural healthcare providers for the incredible care that they provide.  Thank you to the team at Ascension Calumet Hospital and the Wisconsin Hospital Association (WHA) for having me and for the great conversation!

Food Manufacturing
McCain Foods in Appleton employs more than 300 people from throughout the Fox Valley and I enjoyed visiting their facility to learn more about their daily operation, continued innovation of their manufacturing process, and how they support the local community. Thank you to the Appleton Plant Manager, April, and the rest of the McCain Foods team for all that you do and for inviting me to visit to your impressive operation!

Wisconsin Congressman Tony Wied visited McCain Foods to learn more about their daily operation, continued innovation of their manufacturing process, and how they support the local community.
