Congressman Tony Wied’s Update: July 4, 2025

Dear Friend,

Yesterday (the day before Independence Day!), House Republicans delivered on our promises to the American people by passing a once-in-a-generation bill that will enact President Trump’s agenda.

Our One Big Beautiful Bill will cut taxes for working families, provide the necessary resources to secure our border, preserve and protect Medicaid and SNAP for the most vulnerable Americans, support our great farmers, rein in reckless federal spending, and put America First. I was proud to vote in favor of this bill, which will greatly benefit hardworking, middle-class Americans.

Some of the biggest wins in this bill include:

  • Preventing the largest tax increase on the middle class in American history.
  • No tax on tips.
  • No tax on overtime.
  • Increases average Wisconsinites take-home pay by up to $12,000.
  • Provides a $6,000 standard deduction for seniors.
  • Increases the Child Tax Credit.
  • Exempts more than 2 million family-owned farms from the Death Tax.
  • Delivering historic investments in border security.
  • Unleashing American energy.

These are just some of the many victories in this legislation. I look forward to President Trump signing it into law so we can continue our work to Make America Great Again!

I want to wish you and your family a very Happy 4th of July! This Independence Day weekend let’s take time to reflect on how blessed we are to live in the greatest country the world has ever known. I look forward to spending time back home in Wisconsin’s 8th District before getting back to work for you in Washington!
