19th Senate District Update: September 26, 2025

Happy Friday! It has been a productive week, beginning with a focus on local development and policy in Madison.

We met with representatives from the Town of Grand Chute and RDG Planning & Design to gain a deeper understanding of current efforts and future opportunities for ensuring safe and affordable housing in the Grand Chute and broader Fox Cities area.

Our legislative work also involved important health-related discussions: we met with the Wisconsin Hospital Association about potential Next of Kin legislation and held another meeting with a kidney transplant advocate to discuss related policy, both of which may be coming before the Senate Health Committee. Finally, we held additional meetings on key economic and environmental issues, including supporting small businesses through technology investment tax credits and strengthening the crucial Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program.

Beyond the Capitol, I was fortunate to be invited to tour the impressive General Electric Healthcare complex in Waukesha. This state-of-the-art facility is truly inspiring, and it’s excellent to see this level of medical innovation and technological development being done right here in Wisconsin.

Around our area, Representative Gustafson and I were honored to celebrate the recently retired Michael Hert in Oshkosh. We presented him with a citation to commemorate his lifelong achievements and dedicated service to our veterans and the community.

As we head into the weekend, I look forward to connecting with many of you at two great local gatherings. I am hoping to swing by the Fall Festival in Black Creek and Octoberfest in Appleton!

I hope you have a great weekend!
