Another day, another Trump assassination attempt. This makes attempt number 3. All of these have a common denominator, and it is that these shooters were all deeply radicalized by Democrat rhetoric. It’s time to call this out for what it is: The current Democrat party is built on a platform of violence against its perceived enemies and a lack of remorse (and in fact, quiet rejoicing) of successful killings.
I saw this firsthand when I was gathering signatures for my School Board campaign. I was asked by my neighbors why I had a WE ARE ALL CHARLIE KIRK sign in front of my house. I told them that he was killed for engaging in public debate. They agreed that he should not have been killed but immediately pivoted to saying that his words were triggering, and they understood why someone would want to take extreme measures against those who dare to speak an opinion contrary to their own. This encapsulates exactly where the Democrat party today finds itself.
A brief review of the last twenty-four months reinforces this argument:
- First Trump assassination attempt – Butler, PA, July 2024. The shooter (Thomas Matthew Crooks) has been identified as a socially isolated and disturbed loner who was probably influenced by Democrat-sponsored radical rhetoric.
- Second Trump assassination attempt – Trump International Golf Club – September 2024. Ryan Wesley Routh was hiding in shrubbery waiting for Trump’s golf foursome to get into range. Ryan was later identified as being radicalized by anti-Trump-inspired Democrat rhetoric.
- The murder of Brian Thompson – CEO of UnitedHealthcare – by Luigi Mangione in December 2024. After the killing the Democrats expressed sympathy for the killer and blamed the victim as being a cruel, profit-seeking executive.
- June 2025, the Minnesota assassination by Vance Boelter of State Rep. Mellissa Hortman and her husband Mark, and attempted assassination of State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette.
- Annunciation Catholic School shooting in Minneapolis – August 2025. The shooter, Robin Westman, left behind a You Tube video using phrases like “Kill Donald Trump” and “Where is your God?”
- Charlie Kirk Assassination – September 2025. The public reaction from the Left and Democrats in general was both sickening and enlightening. The over-the-top glee on posted videos on Tik Tok, Facebook and Blue Sky Social revealed to America and the world that the effects of Democrat radicalization created a culture of intolerance and hatred that has no place in public square.
I know I am missing several more incidents, but the ones highlighted are indicative of the state of the Democrat Party today. This cannot be allowed to continue and the only way to restore sanity and civility is to have the Democrat Party itself cleanse this dangerous and deadly strain from its bloodstream.
I urge our local Democrat leaders–Emily Tseffos, Lee Snodgrass, and Kristin Dassler-Alfheim–to renounce this violence, lead the charge to purge these elements from the Wisconsin Democrat party and to ensure that the political temperature be turned down in their future meetings and rallies. I ask this not as a partisan, but someone who cares about the future of our republic and the unity of our country.
