THE CITY COUNCIL NEXT MEETS ON APRIL 21 and 22, 2026.

History Repeating Itself?

I recently read an article from the Epoch Times titled “Seeing No Hope for the Future, China’s Youth Are Choosing Failure.”

This one single article asks so many questions, each with many implications, it will pull your mind in many directions. READ IT.

Question: (I’m sure that the phenomena of kids being lazy or discontented was not born in China in the 21st Century. But I’m going to limit things to the 21st Century for this discussion.) Is this movement limited to Chinese culture, or is it something born of Human Nature? The answer appears to be the latter. Is the “China” situation different from what is going on in Iran with the only exception being that the Iranians are ahead of China on the timeline? If revolution is coming in Iran, is it also going to come to China? History along with Man’s genetic drive to break away from tyranny seems to indicate the answer is “Yes”.

Discounting the spill-over effects of civil wars, what’s next? If Iran and China have internal power struggles, what about other countries? Russia? And what about America? What’s our strategy going to be when it all goes into the toilet? Keep our heads down? Or take sides and try to “nation build”? Historically it has been to nation build. But our success rate at nation building is nothing to write home about. And when you consider that there’s a lot of nuclear warheads (both known and unknown) in the world, leadership and decision-making is WAY MORE critical now than it has ever been.

Speaking of America, are we facing our own civil war? What’s happening in Minnesota could be a harbinger of our future too. Like what’s happening in China, Iran and Russia the US is having its own power struggle by opposing political forces. Will “Minnesota” spread to other states? Someone is sure TRYING to spread it. (It’s too bad that they don’t have a public face, yet.) Will our fate be any different than those countries previously mentioned?

If we know anything for certain, we know this. Civil War IS a bi-partisan event. And we know that war, “Civil” or not, is fought only for one reason: profit. So, when deciding on which side to pick, ask yourself this. “WHO is going to profit from this war and WHO is going to be cannon fodder?” Wars by definition need both. You will find that these two groups, one being significantly larger than the other, are mutually exclusive. And most of us (and our families) are in the latter group.

So, to all of us, Choose Wisely.
