On Monday, July 6, Fox Valley Initiative will feature two speakers whose organizations are working to protect children from sexual predators in schools.
The meeting will take place at Freedom Project Academy, 750 North Hickory Farm Road, Appleton. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., and the program will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. Advance registration is not required and admission is free; a free-will offering will be solicited to help offset expenses.
In just this past year, in the Fox Valley and across Wisconsin, there have been multiple stories of children and school systems harmed by the sexual misconduct of staff members.

Laura Ackmann, Winnebago County and state regional coordinator for Moms for Liberty, started the Winnebago chapter of moms for liberty in June 2023. Since then, she has also joined the M4L WI legislative team and is serving as a WI State Ambassador. In this capacity she travels the state to share information about M4L and the state of our education system.

Carolyn Pierre, cofounder of Guardian School Consulting [invited], will review that group’s efforts to assist school districts in strengthening their prevention policy and compliance efforts related to employee sexual misconduct. Pierre graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.A. in Legal Studies and Social Welfare and an MSW with an emphasis on clinical and forensic social work. She has served in direct practice and administrative roles in mental health and sexual abuse prevention since 2008, with extensive experience in program and policy development.
