19th Senate District Update: April 21, 2023

April 22 is Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
April 22 is Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

This week I had the pleasure of testifying in support of Senate Bill 38, this bill would streamline the process of seeking expungement for those who are reformed and have fully served their sentence.

On Wednesday, the Senate convened for a floor session to take up a few agricultural bills and approved many executive appointments to our state’s governing boards, boards of authority, and more.

In addition, my staff and I had productive meetings with:

  • Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin
  • Home Care Owners
  • Wisconsin Health Association
  • Wisconsin Assisted Living Associations
  • Agape

Budget Process

Wisconsin is at its strongest fiscal position in decades. Republicans will continue to do what we’ve done, and that is legislate fiscal responsibility.

The Joint Finance Committee has one last Budget Listening Session, like the previous three, the meeting will run from 10am to 5pm:

Wednesday, April 26th
Lakeland Union High School
9573 State Highway 70, Minocqua

If you don’t have the opportunity to travel to the last public hearing and want members of the Joint Finance Committee to hear your thoughts and suggestions for our upcoming biennial budget, you can submit feedback to: https://legis.wisconsin.gov/topics/budgetcomments/

As taxpayers and members of our community, your input is vital to this process… I encourage you to take time and share your thoughts!
