19th Senate District Update: February 9, 2024

Hello! As we prepare for the floor next week, many committees met to hold public hearings and vote on several critical bills. This included the Senate Committee on Health, where we met to discuss alternative health care models, notifications for adult family home closures, and childhood obesity. Two bills I authored also were heard, including Senate Bill 905, which would improve patient access through direct primary care agreements with their providers. This model avoids the complications of insurance and hassle of the claims process.

I was also happy to meet with our local library directors, who shared with me the different community outreach programs available and progress on the Appleton Public Library renovation. I look forward to all of the exciting things coming to our libraries across northeast Wisconsin!

My staff and I were also happy to meet with:

  • Epic Systems
  • Wisconsin Library Association
  • Wisconsin Music Educators Association
  • American Institute of Architects Wisconsin
  • Wisconsin Hospitals Association
  • MACC Fund
  • Realtors Association of Wisconsin
  • Menasha Joint School District

Next week, both the senate and assembly will be on the floor and sending bills to the governor’s desk. I am also looking forward to many meetings around our area!
