19th Senate District Update: January 12, 2024

Hello! This week, I had two of my bills heard in committee. The first bill would allow nurse aides to work part-time while enrolled in a nurse aid training program. The second bill would expand access to life-saving breast cancer screenings for women with dense breast tissue. For these women, a traditional mammogram screening may not be enough.

My staff and I were also happy to meet with:

  • University of Wisconsin
  • ATC
  • Wisconsin Health Care Association
  • Wisconsin Economic Development Association
  • Helios Recovery Services

Next week, the Senate will be on the floor voting on dozens of important items, including five bills I was proud to work on with stakeholders and folks around our area. The Senate Committee on Health and others I serve on will be meeting, plus four more bills I authored are continuing to move through the public hearing process. Here is the full calendar of events. I am also looking forward to many meetings around our area!

Community Services

County veterans services offices are the at-home, back-to-the-community stop for veterans who have served the nation, fighting its wars and keeping its peace. They are the local link in an intergovernmental chain serving the country’s 21.8 million veterans.
