Let’s finish dairy month strong! Check out the Waushara County Dairy Breakfast on Sunday morning!
Hello, I hope you had a good week!
This week, one of my bills was heard in an Assembly Health Committee public hearing. Senate Bill 282 is a bill that would ensure the Board of Nursing has a well-rounded perspective on nursing education and a growing role within nursing, Advanced Practice Registered Nursing. As healthcare rapidly evolves—with shifts toward telehealth and increasingly complex patient needs—the roles and responsibilities of nurses are also changing. Having a nurse educator and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse on the Board of Nursing ensures Wisconsin stays ahead of these trends by shaping policies that reflect emerging practice models and prepare the workforce for the future of care delivery.
We were able to meet with quite a few people as well, including the Wood County Health Department, the New London Police Department, and the Waupaca County Department of Human Services. The purpose of these meetings was to talk about health priorities, public safety priorities, and the resources that the Aging and Disability Resource Center in Waupaca provides.
We also attended a number of events this week, including the Waushara Community YMCA groundbreaking ceremony in Wautoma. It was great to see such an impactful addition in Waushara County get rolling! I also attended the Shine community sculpture project, where the sculpture was given to the City of Waupaca. I enjoyed seeing everyone’s hard work and artistic talent on display.
I also wanted to thank everyone who came to the listening session this week in Omro! I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to join me and share your thoughts.
I hope you enjoy your weekend! We have some great events in store as the Outagamie County Fair and Fremont River Days take place this weekend.
