This past weekend, President Trump took decisive action to end Iran’s nuclear program without starting another endless war.
Our brave men and women in uniform delivered precise strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities and destroyed them completely. I am very grateful that they were not harmed in this mission and thank them for their service to our country.
As a result of this strike, Iran is left without nuclear capabilities for years to come, and the world is a safer place for it. Within days of this strike, President Trump was able to negotiate a ceasefire between Iran and Israel. This was a remarkable showing of peace through strength by our President. He proved to the world that we once again have a real leader and will not tolerate threats to the United States or our allies abroad.
Now that this has been accomplished, we must return our focus to the challenges we face at home—securing our border, cutting taxes, lowering everyday prices, and putting America First. Our One Big Beautiful Bill delivers all of that for the American people. I look forward to the Senate passing the bill this weekend, so the House can follow suit and send it to President Trump’s desk to be signed into law.
As always, I will keep you updated as we continue this process.

PERMIT Act Advances to House Floor
On Wednesday, the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure held a markup session on the Promoting Efficient Review for Modern Infrastructure Today (PERMIT) Act. This bill is laser-focused on cutting bureaucratic red tape and increasing the efficiency of Clean Water Act permitting. The Federal Water Pollution Control Act of 1948 (commonly referred to as the Clean Water Act) was the first major piece of legislation that addressed water pollution at a national scale. Despite what you may hear from Democrats, the PERMIT Act does not overhaul the goals of the Clean Water Act; rather, it makes targeted reforms that were inspired by stakeholder feedback to simplify the permitting process and codify long-standing practices into law. Republican members of the committee stood united in support of this bill, which will now be sent to the House floor before final passage. More information on the committee markup can be found here.
Protecting SNAP Benefits and Supporting Organic Dairy
This week, I was proud to introduce the bipartisan EBT Fee Free Act with my House Agriculture Committee colleague, Rep. Shontel Brown (D-OH). This bill ensures that there will never be a processing fee added to SNAP purchases. EBT Fee Free Act will protect SNAP users who cannot afford additional fees on their SNAP benefits and small business owners accepting SNAP benefits from shouldering the costs of any onerous fees. I look forward to this bill hopefully being included in a Farm Bill later this year. Additionally, I was proud to introduce the Organic Dairy Data Act with Reps. Chellie Pingree (D-ME) and Nick Langworthy (R-NY). This bipartisan bill would enhance USDA’s data collection abilities to better understand the costs associated with producing organic milk. Since Wisconsin ranks second in overall dairy production and third in organic dairy, and our district, WI-08, ranks fourth out of all 435 Congressional Districts, this data would help our district—and dairy-producing communities across the country—remain a vital part of the market.
WHO Should Be in Charge of Our Pandemic Policy?
I joined Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-WI) and Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) to reintroduce the No WHO Pandemic Preparedness Treaty Without Senate Approval Act, which will guarantee that any future agreement between the United States and the World Health Organization (WHO) regarding pandemic response must be treated as a formal treaty – requiring the advice and consent of two-thirds of the Senate before it can be enacted. This legislation is important because it reinforces the constitutional role of Congress in foreign policy decisions, particularly those with far-reaching implications for national sovereignty and public health. By mandating Senate approval, our bill aims to prevent any future administration from unilaterally committing the U.S. to international obligations that could affect domestic policy like the Biden administration tried to do. Emplify Health: Visit to Bellin Hospital in Green Bay
I had the privilege this past week to tour Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, and the highlight of my visit was their state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This cutting-edge facility is one of only a few in the nation that allows mothers to receive care in the same room as their newborns. It’s a model that not only supports the health of the infant but also empowers parents to leave the hospital confident and prepared to care for their child at home. It’s always inspiring to see innovation happening right here in Northeast Wisconsin. Thank you to the outstanding team at Bellin for the care and services you provide day in and day out!

Grand Re-Opening of Capital Credit Union Corporate Headquarters
[see featured photo above] I recently attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the grand re-opening of the Capital Credit Union Corporate Headquarters in Green Bay. Since 1934, Capital Credit Union has served its members, employees, and communities throughout Northeast Wisconsin. It was great to join Capital Credit Union President and CEO Laurie Butz, many of her team members, the Greater Green Bay Chamber, and other local officials to celebrate the re-opening of their newly renovated corporate headquarters. Congratulations to Laurie and the entire Capital Credit Union team on this project!
