19th Senate District Update: May 29, 2026

Happy Friday!

This week was spent mostly across our district.

I met with constituents and the Portage County Board members to discuss state matters that impact the county. We also attended the Waupaca County Towns Association meeting. We heard from town and county officials about the challenges they face, ways to better provide for their constituents, and potential legislative priorities for the upcoming session. We also met with the National Alliance on Mental Illness to discuss potential legislative priorities for the upcoming session.

Additionally, we participated in the A Touch of Glass ribbon cutting ceremony in Amherst. It is always exciting to start a new business, and I look forward to their success. We also toured the Fresenius Medical Care Dialysis Clinic in Oshkosh. I appreciated getting more insight into their patient care routines and how many folks they can serve. This is a valuable addition to Oshkosh and the surrounding area.

Thank you to all those that attended the listening session at the Black Creek Village Library on Wednesday. It was good to hear about concerns and possible areas of improvement.

Study Committees are set to commence in June, and I have been selected to chair the artificial intelligence in health care study committee. If you wish to apply to serve on the committee, here is the link.

Finally, this will be the last Rachael Report until after the general election in November, because of election law. Please follow my Facebook page for regular updates after this.

Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Dairy Month!

Softball Gloves Wanted!

The Winneconne High School and Middle School are looking for donations to their softball program. We are reaching out to the community to ask for any gloves that are lightly used. If able, please drop them off at the middle school office. The Physical Education department would appreciate it!
