19th Senate District Update: October 3, 2025

Happy Friday!

It’s hard to believe we’re already into October, and the session continues to move quickly. It has been a busy week in Madison with several legislative proposals advancing.

I was proud to testify in both the Senate and Assembly public hearings in favor of my bill to deter service animal misrepresentation, as well as my proposal to restrict the mandated use of virtual credit card payments in health insurance policies, which will help give providers more options for transactions. I am optimistic that both of these bills will soon be voted out of committee and made available for a full vote on the Assembly and Senate floors.

This week, I was also honored to hold a press conference with my Senate and Assembly colleagues and the Parkinson’s Disease Alliance of Wisconsin to introduce legislation that would create a vital Parkinson’s Disease Registry in our state. This is a critical step, as Parkinson’s Disease is the fastest-growing and second-most common neurodegenerative disease, affecting approximately 21,000 Wisconsinites. A registry will help us track the prevalence and progression of the disease, inform public health planning, facilitate essential research, and aid in clinical trial recruitment.

Additionally, we had opportunities to meet with folks from the National Federation of Independent Businesses and Wisconsin Restaurant Association to learn more about challenges they’ve faced in their industries and ways to improve the business climate.

I hope you have a great weekend!
