Eagle Scout Court of Honor

[see featured photo above] This past weekend, I had the honor of attending an Eagle Court of Honor at the American Legion Giles Luce Post 364, recognizing two outstanding constituents, Cody Tipler and Andrew Sperling of Winneconne.

Both are members of Scout BSA Troop 629, part of the Twin Lakes District, BSA, and students at Winneconne High School.

Each earned the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout —an achievement that reflects their dedication, leadership, and commitment to serving their community.

Committee on G.O.A.T.

This week we were back in the Committee on Government Operations, Accountability, and Transparency. We heard testimony raising serious concerns about the lack of transparency surrounding changes to Wisconsin’s standardized testing, including lowered cut scores and shifts in performance categories.

These decisions impact students, parents, and educators across the state—and underscore the importance of open government, accountability, and ensuring the public has a clear view into how education policy is made.

Capitol Meeting

This week, I had the opportunity to meet with concerned stakeholders at the Capitol to discuss ways to strengthen Assembly Bill 848 for the next legislative cycle.

AB 848—relating to the operation of autonomous vehicles on highways and establishing penalties—is a bill I was proud to author alongside Representative Maxey and Senator Cabral-Guevara. We had a productive conversation about how autonomous vehicle technology can improve quality of life while making our roads safer for everyone.
