Dual Enrollment Reform
I’m proud to author Assembly Bill 582, the Dual Enrollment Bill, which had a hearing in the Education Committee on Thursday. After months of collaboration with the UW System, Wisconsin Technical College System, DPI, private institutions, K-12 leaders, parents, and students, we’ve crafted a plan to make college credit accessible to every Wisconsin high schooler—no matter where they live. Right now, dual enrollment thrives in some districts but barely exists in others, especially rural areas. That’s not fair, and it’s holding kids back from saving money, shortening their path to a degree, and exploring careers early.
AB 582 fixes this by creating a statewide Council on Dual Enrollment, launching a “one-stop shop” website and brochure, expanding access starting in 9th grade (including summers), guaranteeing credit transfer across UW, technical, and participating private colleges, and aligning simple deadlines. It’s real opportunity in action: higher graduation rates, closed achievement gaps, and more talent staying in Wisconsin.

Condominium Conversion Bill Gets Hearing In State Senate

Recently Assembly Bill 455, the Condominium Conversion Reimbursement Grant Bill received a hearing the State Senate. This is part of a package of bills aimed at addressing Wisconsin’s housing shortage. AB 455 is a smart way to tackle this by encouraging the development of owner-occupied condominiums, but our state’s condo rules haven’t kept up in decades. That’s why I’m supporting legislation to incentivize developers to convert multi-family rental units into these condos. The goal is simple: provide the funding boost needed to ease housing shortages by making it easier and more rewarding for developers to build owner-occupied condos through these targeted incentives. This important bill has already passed the Assembly and is moving quickly in the Senate as well.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This disease touches too many lives—our mothers, sisters, wives, daughters, and friends—and I’m urging everyone to spread awareness, encourage early screenings, and support local efforts like fundraisers and walks.

Have a happy and safe Halloween!
