19th Senate District Update: March 1, 2024

With the assembly likely wrapped up for the remainder of the session, the state senate is continuing to finalize legislation and other items prior to the end of March. This includes a bi-partisan proposal I authored expanding the tax exemption for EdVest accounts, which can be used by parents to save for their kids’ college or apprenticeship programs.

I was also extremely proud to speak with the nurses who came to Madison to talk about the importance of the governor signing the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Modernization Act. If signed, this proposal will help expand the accessibility and affordability of health care services in Wisconsin, making it easier for nurses to open up independent practices in underserved areas.

My staff and I were also happy to meet with:

  • Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty
  • School Choice Wisconsin
  • Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association
  • America 250 Commission
  • Wisconsin Business Coalition
  • ASHRAE
  • The Carpenters Union
  • REM Wisconsin
  • Wisconsin Naturopathic Doctors Association

Next week, I look forward to many more meetings in Madison and around our area!
