Do you currently serve on a school board, or have you ever thought about running for school board? The Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty (WILL) is hosting a School Board Summit at the Freedom Project in Appleton on Friday, October 4 from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m.
WILL’s Restoring American Education (RAE) initiative will be joining allies at the Freedom Project, Fox Valley Initiative, and the 1848 Project for an afternoon of professional development, informative presentations, and networking. WILL’s Education Counsel Cory Brewer will be presenting on the powers and duties of school boards, and WILL Associate Counsel Lauren Greuel will join Cory in a presentation on model policies for school boards on good governance, parental rights, transparency, and more. If you’re a school board member or hoping to become one, you owe it to yourself to attend this information-packed program on Friday, October 4. The schedule will look like this:
1:00-1:15 p.m. — welcome from FreedomProject, WILL, and the 1848 Project
1:15-2:45 p.m. — WILL presentation: Powers and Duties of School Boards; Model Policies for Local School Boards
2:45-3:00 p.m. — Break
3:00-4:30 pm. — 1848 Project presentation: Effective Campaign Essentials: Fundraising, Messaging, and Manpower. Plus, campaign finance and reporting basics, and how to avoid common mistakes.
