Assembly Floor Recap
Last Wednesday the Assembly wrapped up the fall floor-period with a big day of votes, and I’m proud to say we got a lot done for our kids and for our election security. On the education side, we passed a package that gives school districts real tools to handle declining enrollment: new grants for consolidation studies, extra aid for districts that do merge ($1,500 per student the first year and $650 the second), a Teacher Bill of Rights, more professional development, and measures to keep classrooms safe and focused on learning. At the same time, we strengthened election integrity by requiring appointment-free early in-person hours in every community (balancing the advantages for big cities), protecting election workers, cleaning up voter rolls, tightening absentee ballot rules, and adding common-sense safeguards so only eligible US Citizens can participate. These bills are all about delivering better schools without endless referendums, and ensuring elections you can trust—exactly the kind of practical, commonsense wins our citizens deserve.

Capitol Meeting

Last week Hannah, Lori, Payton, and Katelyn from the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association stopped by the office. This was part of their annual lobby day at the capitol and 3 of the ladies pictured are students preparing to be physical therapists and all of them are from the Appleton area.
