19th Senate District Update: April 24, 2026

This week has continued to present significant challenges for many of our neighbors across the region as recovery efforts from the recent storms and flooding remain ongoing. Families are still dealing with the aftermath—damaged homes, disrupted lives, and the emotional toll that follows such events. Thankfully, communities came together to support their neighbors! Their generosity and hard work have made a real difference on the ground. That said, there is still a tremendous amount of work ahead, and I encourage anyone who is able to continue offering assistance in the days and weeks to come (more details below).

I was happy to join Representative Murphy and Tyson Foods for their “Meals That Matter” event. Together, we helped distribute hot meals and essential supplies to residents impacted by the flooding.

Later in the week, I had the pleasure of stopping by Lawrence University, where I spoke with students in a government class about the inner workings of state and local government. It was energizing to engage with the next generation of leaders, answer their thoughtful questions, and discuss how policy decisions at every level affect our daily lives.

I also hosted a legislative panel this week in partnership with the Wisconsin Association for Homeless and Runaway Services. We heard powerful and informative testimony from invited speakers on the current state of homelessness and runaway youth across Wisconsin. The conversation then turned to potential solutions and practical improvements we can pursue at the state level.

Additionally, our office held productive meetings with representatives from True North Patient Advocates, OnMed, and the Wisconsin Snowmobile Association. We had candid and constructive conversations about the challenges and opportunities facing Wisconsin patients seeking quality healthcare, as well as outdoor enthusiasts who contribute so much to our state’s economy and way of life.

I hope you and your family have a great weekend ahead!
