I hope 2026 is off to a great start for you, and I wish you all health, happiness, and prosperity this year. Before Congress gears back up next week, I wanted to take a moment to recap some of the work my office has done over the past year.
This year, I spent time in every corner of Northeast Wisconsin, meeting with the people and communities who make our region such a remarkable place to call home. From our thriving small businesses and family farms to our manufacturers, schools, and local organizations, each visit deepened my understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing our district.
Every stop reminded me how important this work is and how decisions made in Washington shape the lives of families and communities back home. This job isn’t about headlines or photo ops – it’s about listening closely, showing up consistently, and making sure your concerns travel with me into every meeting, every policy discussion, and every decision. I’m grateful for every conversation, tour, and roundtable that helped shape my work on your behalf.
Throughout the year, I partnered closely with local leaders to ensure that you and your family continue receiving responsive, effective service and strong representation. Whether addressing community needs, supporting economic growth, or helping neighbors navigate federal agencies, my focus has remained on delivering results that reflect the values and priorities of Northeast Wisconsin.
We returned a record amount of money to constituents through casework and grants, and I was able to secure over $8 million in Community Funding Projects for our district. Our team was able to help constituents cut through red tape and resolve 1,237 cases. Over $4.8 million was recovered, so whether you need help with IRS refunds, getting a billing error at the VA fixed, or assistance applying for a federal grant, please don’t hesitate to contact my office in De Pere.
Back in Washington, I worked every day with the needs of our district front and center. Whether in committee rooms or late‑night negotiations, I carried the voices of our families, farmers, and manufacturers into every discussion. I introduced 19 pieces of legislation that reflect the values and priorities I hear across our district – policies to make our communities safer, protect family farms, support small businesses, end wasteful government programs, and ensure that hardworking Wisconsinites can build a stable future.
One of the biggest highlights of 2025 was when President Trump signed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act into law. This package was a major legislative win – from securing the working family tax cuts and enhancing border security to investing in our rural communities and restoring our Second Amendment rights, which protect the entire Constitution.
However, there is still much more to do. As we turn the page into a new year, I’m carrying your stories with me – they guide my work and remain my greatest motivation. I look forward to continuing these efforts in 2026 to support policies that will restore American greatness, keep our communities safe, and promote peace and prosperity.
Thanks again for starting off your weekend with us! We hope you enjoy this week’s special edition of the Wied Wire and wish you a happy New Year ahead.
