Does AI make you worry about Skynet becoming self-aware? Or HAL taking over the world?
Join Fox Valley Initiative on Monday, October 6, when Wisconsin State Rep. Nate Gustafson and Dr. Richard Lukas, Jr. of the Milwaukee School of Engineering will discuss the brave new world of Artificial Intelligence and its potential impacts on Wisconsin.
Gustafson is chair of the Wisconsin Assembly Committee on Science, Technology and AI. Lukas is Adjunct Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Software Engineering at MSOE. Together they’ll discuss:
- What is AI?
- History and Development of AI.
- How will AI change the workplace, society, etc.?
- What are the electricity requirements for AI, and what issues does AI present for the electrical grid?
- How can/should the legislature respond to AI?
The meeting will be held at FreedomProject Academy, 750 North Hickory Farm Lane, Appleton. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the program will start promptly at 6:30 p.m. The meeting is open to the public with no fee to register. Advance registration is, however, appreciated, as seating is limited. Register at the Fox Valley Initiative website.
