I’m sure that you’ve noticed. It seems like every day now there is a story about how students at some Wisconsin school or another are walking out of class to protest the law-enforcement actions of I.C.E. Students from all across the state are coming together in solidarity to express their feelings about how wrong it is for the Feds to enforce the laws and arrest the criminals when local and state officials intentionally refuse to do THEIR duty.
Students from Milwaukee, Madison, Racine, Greenfield, Franklin, and countless other school districts across the state leave their classrooms to carry signs and make noise. Yes, this is solidarity. These poor children all have something in common. NO EDUCATION. They are functionally stupid. They cannot read or write or do math at anywhere near grade level. And no matter how Wisconsin’s Department of Public Instruction, DPI, rigs the state test results, National tests show Wisconsin’s student performance drops lower and lower every year. All while $Millions and $Millions MORE is spent every year.
Of course, the students are not in this alone. The school TEACHERS’ UNION, ADMINISTRATIONS and SCHOOL BOARDS are right there with them, encouraging them, enabling them, and organizing them to skip class and waste the time so desperately needed to improve their 8% math efficiency. Perhaps the teachers’ unions would be better off encouraging their members to, oh, I don’t know, TEACH.
And where is the DPI on this? Are they demanding that the kids be kept in the classrooms? Are they disciplining schools and teachers for NOT doing their jobs? Or are they spending TAX DOLLARS to print protest signs? It really doesn’t matter. DPI will just lower standards AGAIN next year, won’t they?
But the real criminals here are the parents, parents who have no interest in seeing their kids become anything more than collectors of welfare checks. I guess it’s true. The apple doesn’t fall from the Public-School Tree.
