Trout Museum keeps Appleton mayor informed on review process for moving to Peace Park

APPLETON – Mayor Jake Woodford said Wednesday that the Trout Museum of Art has been updating him directly as it studies the feasibility of building a 30,000-square-foot facility at Ellen Kort Peace Park along the Fox River.

Woodford said the Trout Museum hired Westwood Professional Services to conduct a Phase I environmental study of the site. The report, he said, has been received and is being reviewed by the museum.

“Next, the Trout Museum of Art will be meeting with city staff to review the results and discuss next steps in the environmental review process,” Woodford told the Common Council. “Upon completion of the necessary environmental reviews, the remainder of the review areas within Step 4 will be undertaken and completed.”

Step 4 refers to site analysis, which is identified in a process map that outlines a series of reviews and approvals necessary for the Trout Museum to relocate to the Peace Park.
