Easton Elmer, a 13-year-old from the Fox Valley, was awarded a scholarship to attend the LEAD WI summer camp hosted by Wisconsin Family Council.
The award presentation was made on Monday, May 4 at a meeting of Fox Valley Initiative (FVI), which funded the scholarship. Former Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch and Ruth Elmer, FVI’s liaison to Wisconsin Family Council, made the presentation.
At the May 4 meeting, Easton briefly discussed his future plans to fly C-130 planes for the U.S. Air Force. A student at a local Christian school, he participates in forensics and Civil Air Patrol. To win the scholarship, Easton submitted an essay describing Alexander Hamilton as his favorite founding father.
LEAD WI is a week-long camp experience built on a unique government and civics platform aimed at equipping teens to become effective and godly leaders who engage the culture from a biblical perspective. FVI is a group of Fox Valley-area voters and taxpayers interested in local, state, and federal issues.
