Referendum Explanation Bill Passes Assembly
Assembly Bill 207, The State Referendum Disclosure Notice Bill, was recently passed by the Wisconsin Assembly. Wisconsin has had many previous constitutional referendums and will continue to have more in the future. AB207 ensures that referendums can be clearly understood by voters by requiring a plain language explanation of what the impact of the referendum will be if it is passed. The complicated legal jargon currently included on the ballot creates unnecessary confusion, but this bill provides clarity for voters by making sure that they have all the necessary information to make an informed decision. I’m proud to be a Co-Author of this common-sense legislation, and I’m happy to see it pass the full Assembly.

Enhanced Penalties for Foreign Agents

I recently signed on as a cosponsor of Assembly Bill 672, a penalty enhancer for criminals acting as an agent of a foreign government or terrorist organization. This legislation increases the classification level of crime committed by a person who acted illegally to impose the viewpoints of a foreign government or terrorist organization. This bill is especially prevalent now in light of the recent attack on two National Guardsmen in our nation’s capital. This horrific attack was perpetrated by an Afghan national and left one woman dead and the other Guardsmen in serious condition. It is important that Wisconsin ensures that our communities are protected against foreign organizations wanting to inflict harm on our people, and I am proud to cosponsor this legislation.

New Holiday Light Display

This holiday season the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers are introducing a new holiday light show and Christmas activities at Neuroscience Group Field. This festive way to celebrate the Christmas season is open until January 3rd and offers fun events all around the ballpark for families to enjoy!
